What is so special about Kemeri National Park?

Kemeri National Park is a place to enjoy outstanding values of nature. You can choose between several sightseeing objects and types of landscape as well as ways of getting around.
Biodiversity of KNP leaves an impression on everyone, be it holiday traveller, nature lover or professional ornithologist.

...Watch birds, catch a glimpse of relatives of ancient wild horses and cows – Konik Polski and Auroxen, take a walk in Kemeri park and feel the the atmosphere of the once so famous and exclusive SPA, let your children learn more about the different forms of life around us at outdoor lessons of the Nature School of KNP...
That’s the variety of Kemeri National Park.
Moreover, KNP offers a range of traditional events all through the year, for example, Birdwatching Days (in spring and autumn), European Day of Parks, Bat Night, etc. All these activities are open for everyone.



Where to get information on KNP?

From May 1st – September 30 KNP Information Centre is open in the administration building „Meža māja” („Forest house”) in Kemeri.
In June we will be open from Wednesday - Sunday from 10:30-16:30. Other times information can be obtained at KNP administration, Nature Education and Tourism Department. Our working hours: weekdays from 8:30-17:00. Phone +371 67146824; e-mail: info@kemeri.gov.lv You are welcome!

KNP Information Centre offers:
- information on nature trails and routes in KNP;
- information on other recreation possibilities in the territory of KNP;
- information on nature education activities organized by KNP;

How to get to KNP Information Centre?

- By car along the road No P128 (Talsi) or No A10 (Ventspils) up to the turningpoint to Ķemeri;
- By train Riga - Kemeri- Tukums to the station Kemeri (train schedule here);
- By bus No 6 from Sloka or minibus No 10 from Bulduri to Kemeri, bus stop „Meža māja” (bus schedule here).



How to get around in KNP?

- On foot;
- By car;
- By tourist bus;
- By bicycle (rental office at Kemeri railway station);
- By boat (information about possibilities to rent a boat here).



Remember!

Kemeri National Park is a protected nature territory regulated by Latvian legislation. The aim of these rules is to provide maintenance of the outstanding nature values for our future generations, so that their delight at what they see here is as big as yours. So would You please:
- do not make fires and set up tents outside places specially marked for this purpose;
- use roads only for moving around the territory of KNP by any kind of vehicle (horse, bicycle, car, bike, etc.);
- keep your dogs on lead;
- leave your rubbish in places specially marked for this purpose;
- do not destroy or damage different objects around you (trees, bushes, other plants, trails, information stands etc.).
